To my RSS Feed Audience

I have changed the way I write my posts and it will affect you the most.

You may have already noticed it.

Click "Read More" to find out why.

I have begun using Jump breaks. What this means is that in your RSS reader, or even on my blog home page you will see only the beginning of the post.

My hope is that this will help de-clutter your feed (and my homepage) from posts you may be less interested in. If you are interested in what I have to say on the subject then you simply click the "Read More" link. This will take you from your feed reader to my actual website to view the whole of the post.

You see currently I have several people that are subscribed via RSS, but Google doesn't know how to count those as views. So I do not have a realistic understanding of the content that you enjoy reading. I sincerely want to write stuff you find worth reading. This new tactic will help me do that.

It also has additional benefits. The better my site traffic is the more likely I am to be found by people I do not yet know. While I understand that I am not the supreme authority on the things I write about, I also understand that God can use anyone, even me, to reach out to the people he loves and created. I once heard it said, "You can't preach the gospel if there is no one there to listen."

If you like me posting more frequently one of the best ways you can encourage me to do so is by interacting with the wonderful organizations that support my online ministry. Some people call those advertisers. Yes if you click an ad or buy something from one of those companies I get paid. I do not write to get paid, but it is nice. If you only read my blog in an RSS feed then you are not seeing these wonderful organizations that I have partnered with.

I hope you will appreciate the ability to see me in your feed but not be bogged down by a post that doesn't resonate with you.
