Feb 16th - Things I'm Praying About

I did not get a chance to do a video for the post this week.

To be honest I have had trouble wanting to even make this post this week. I think that in the moments when our desire to pray is the least, our need to is the greatest.

It is in moments like this that I am thankful for the little bit of discipline I have mixed with the community of people I am accountable to. I notice each week that this has been one of my more popular posts which tells me that you are paying attention. You are reading my heart and joining me in prayer. Thank you.

So here it is the things that are on my heart to pray about this week.

  1.  Continued Prayer for Previous weeks. -  All you need to do is scroll down a short bit under the "Things I'm Praying For" tab to see a nice list. There are a few things that are recurring and are still on my heart.
  2. Hate - Believe it or not a youth worker friend of mine this week got a piece of hate-mail. It was an anonymous letter all he knew was which city it was from. Apparently the mother was angry with her son who as it turns out is gay. She scolded my friend the youth worker as if 1.) he should have done something to prevent that from happening. Or worse 2.) there is something terribly wrong with her son. I am not sure what breaks my heart the most about this, for my friend who received the letter? for the woman who wrote the letter? or for the young man whose mother is failing to love her son. No matter your position on the subject surely this letter is not something that sits well with you, it doesn't with me. Unfortunately this same thing happens all the time.
  3. The Half- Boy - My good friend and mentor - one of my Top 5 Influences in life - Tim Palmer is in the midst of a KickStarter campaign to crowd fund recording his next album. He has dedicated his life to loving others and serving God. His music and his life have been a blessing to me. I wish I had the money to fully fund the project for him, but money is tight for me. Perhaps you will check out his KickStarter page, watch the video about his project, and back him. Perhaps you can't support financially like me, in that case share the link and pray that God will not only provide but that God would continue to bless Tim and his music in a way that infects lives with an understanding of truth and beauty.
