About

Welcome! I’m Pastor Jacob Fields, and my life is a blend of faith, family, and service. I have the privilege of serving as the pastor of two United Methodist Churches in Wichita Falls, where I’m deeply committed to guiding our congregations in faith and life. My approach to ministry is rooted in connecting scriptures in meaningful ways, helping people grow spiritually through thoughtful, relevant, and engaging sermons.

Beyond my pastoral work, I’m the founder of a consulting business that I view as a ministry extension to provide specific nurture for business owners and leaders by providing professional services towards their greatest needs. I believe that businesses ownership is important work that can be a huge blessing but can also be a source of oversized burdens. My goal is to relieve the burdens of business leaders by providing strategic insights and solutions that drive success and sustainability.

On the home front, I’m blessed with a wonderful family. My wife Kim and I are raising our children to be filled with love, to love learning, and have a strong sense of serving others. Our family life is a constant source of joy and inspiration, and I strive to bring the same warmth and commitment to everything I do, whether in ministry or business.

While I’ve also been involved in nonprofit work through an initiative called R138 Inc., my primary focus right now is on my ministry and consulting endeavors. When I’m not working, I enjoy staying well-read on a variety of topics, managing my own retirement accounts, and continually seeking ways to grow and share knowledge.

Whether in the pulpit or the boardroom, my mission is to inspire, educate, and empower those around me. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me, and I look forward to connecting with you.

My Biography

I was raised in a single-parent home in Arlington, Texas. I started my first business at the age of 8 and have always had a very entrepreneurial mind. I was often considered a troublemaker until I embraced a relationship with God; it changed my life in a very real way.

I graduated from McMurry University in Abilene with a major in Business Administration with a minor in religion. That is where I met my wife Kim and married her a week after graduating.  I was recognized as the Outstanding Graduate of the class of 2009.

I worked as the Director of Youth and Children's Ministries at Preston Hollow United Methodist Church, where I transformed their pumpkin patch fundraiser, growing the funds raised by more than fivefold in only three years. Those funds allowed me to take students on a mission trip to Russia!

In 2012, I transitioned to Lake Cities UMC in Lake Dallas, Texas. During my time there, I went from Youth Ministry to Licensed as a Local Pastor. It was a hectic season filled with many blessings, as I also became a homeowner and a dad (3x) and earned my Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at SMU in 2017.

After graduating seminary, I was appointed Pastor of Blue Mound UMC in Denton where we experienced incredible growth and accomplishments as a church. We earned the One Matters award from Discipleship Ministries after more than 10 years without a profession of faith. There were 6 of them during my first year as their pastor, and we welcomed 26 new members. I also learned the challenges of growth and the importance of moving an organization forward in sustainable ways that can continue beyond one's tenure.

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was appointed Pastor of Trinity United Methodist in Wichita Falls. We hit the ground running even amid the challenges of 2020 and 2021, revitalizing the church's Childcare Ministry and renovating the church. Wesley UMC was added to my charge in March of 2022.

We continue to serve as and where God leads in all possible ways.

All the way back in 2013 I did a "Getting to Know Me" blog Challenge. It is odd to look back on.  - Check It Out
