JacobFields.org is my personal blog and website. It is focused on life through the lens of my faith, for the purpose of spreading a Wesleyan message of the Gospel.
Pastor Jacob is currently serving at Lake Cities United Methodist Church in Lake Dallas, Texas.
I am first and foremost a Christ follower, Not far behind that I am a Husband to Kim and Father to George and Jordan.
I am a Certified Candidate in the ordination process of The United Methodist Church to become an Elder. I am currently appointed to Lake Cities UMC where I serve as the youth pastor, and attending Perkins School of Theology at SMU.
My goal is to create insightful, relevant content that you can put to work in your personal and professional life. I Categorize my posts in these areas: Business, Ministry, Spiritual Life, Current Events, Family.
I try to post three times a week. I am currently taking a break from regular posting in order to focus my attention on my family and my seminary work. I will be making occasional posts in the mean time of sermons and papers. To make sure you don’t miss my newest posts, you can subscribe via e-mail. Blogging takes time, some simple ways that you can encourage me: you can share posts you find interesting, comment on posts.
I was raised in a single parent home in Arlington Texas. I started my first business at the age of 8 years old and have always had a very entrepreneurial mind. I was often considered a trouble maker until after I embraced a relationship with God, it changed my life in a very real way. In High School I was a distance runner and I have aspirations to get back to running.
I graduated from McMurry University in Abilene with a major in Business Administration with a minor in religion. I met my wife Kim while at McMurry and we got married a week after I graduated. Upon graduation I was recognized as the Outstanding Graduate of the class of 2009.
I have worked in full time ministry for 5 years and served in part time/volunteer capacity for several years before that.
In my free time, I enjoy golf, creating things, talking with friends and family, and Writing. The things that dominate my time leaving me without any "free" time include, being a dad of 2 little boys, Youth Ministry, and Seminary.
